Join Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird, Annemarie Ní Churreáin, and Dubhán Ó Longáin as they read newly composed poems, commissioned by Conradh na Gaeilge, based on language rights. This will be just the second time that the three come together to read their work.

Annemarie Ní Churreáin
Annemarie Ní Churreáin is a poet from the Donegal Gaeltacht, Ireland. Her books include The Poison Glen (The Gallery Press, 2021) and Bloodroot (Doire Press, 2017). She is a recipient of the Arts Council’s Next Generation Artist Award and a co-recipient of The Markievicz Award. In 2023 Ní Churreáin is Writer in Residence at the Druskininkai Poetic Falls Festival, Lithuania. She is the incoming Poetry Editor of The Stinging Fly. Visit www.studiotwentyfive.com.
About Dubhán Ó Longáin (Duane Long)
Dubhán obtained both his undergraduate and master’s degree at Ulster University, Magee Campus, before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Belfast. He is now working towards his PhD on the Laoithe Fiannaíochta (Ossianic Lays) and specifically the orality of the lays and their role in society. His research interests include Irish folklore (particularly the Ossianic tales), the manuscript tradition and modern Irish literature.He is also a creative writer and his first collection of poetry, entitled IDEO Locator, was published by Coiscéim in 2020. He is also a writer of short stories and has contributed to the recently published, award winning anthology 'Bláth na dTulach'.

About Proinsias Mac a' Bhaird
From Árainn Mhór in Donegal, Proinsias has published 10 books of prose and poetry. His first book, Cogar san Fharraige (Coiscéim, 2002), about the folklore of Árainn Mhór. His most recent poetry collection is Bealach na Mine Buí (Coiscéim, 2015). He has written two other poetry collections as well as novels, children’s books, short stories, plays and songs. Proinsias has won numerous prizes for his creative writing. He reads regularly at literary festivals and occasionally writes for journals and other media. His abiding interests include the sea, island life, music, folklore and history.
